Rosen states he instructed Trump he would not allow for the DOJ to do anything to overturn the election

There was no lawful foundation to appoint a Justice Section unique counsel to look into voter fraud in 2020, even even though President Donald Trump demanded it, a top rated division official testifiThursday.

Steven Engel, who was the head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, which supplies legal guidance to the government department, explained the saga in testimony to the Jan. 6 find committee.

“It was not legally available,” Engel explained.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican, who has been major a lot of the questioning on Thursday, condemned Trump for even thinking about a exclusive counsel.

“An investigation led by a unique counsel would just build an illusion of legitimacy and phony cover for people who want to object” to the 2020 election, “including those people who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6,” he said.
