Delta flight from Tampa to Atlanta finishes in injuries just after ‘unruly passenger,’ law enforcement say

A girl was taken into FBI custody two days ahead of Christmas soon after she triggered a disturbance on a Tampa to Atlanta flight that resulted in injuries, according to the Atlanta Police Office.

Delta flight 2790 departed from Tampa Intercontinental Airport at 5:39 p.m. Thursday. All through the flight, Patricia Cornwall grew to become unruly and wounded passengers and Delta workforce, police claimed. When the airplane landed at Hartsfield Jackson Intercontinental Airport, statements from flight travellers and noticeable evidence led police to detain Cornwall.

Law enforcement contacted the on-simply call FBI agent and officers moved Cornwall to the Atlanta Law enforcement Section precinct. FBI brokers then took custody of Cornwall. No other data was introduced.

The extent of the injuries endured by travellers and Delta flight employees was not introduced.

U.S. Legal professional General Merrick Garland in November directed U.S. lawyers to prioritize the prosecution of federal crimes on commercial flights.

“The Division of Justice is committed to making use of its resources to do its section to prevent violence, intimidation, threats of violence and other legal habits that endangers the basic safety of travellers, flight crews and flight attendants on commercial aircraft,” Garland mentioned in a news launch.
