Darwin rocked by magnitude 7.2 Indonesian earthquake

Darwin has been rocked by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake which struck the Barat Daya Islands in Indonesia right away.

The quake hit north of Timor-Leste at 5:25am AEDT.

The Bureau of Meteorology stated there was no tsunami risk to the Australian mainland, islands or territories.

Darwin people, which include Australian athlete and previous politician Nova Peris, explained it was felt across the Territory.
